My dream is to make things with funny, creative people. Here’s some samples of my writing — finished scripts but also a few essays that show my voice. Thanks for taking the time to check them out.

Upstate (feature-length romantic comedy, 2023)

An overachieving businessman, spiraling upon realizing that his corporate job and type-A girlfriend are only right for him on paper, is charmed by an anxious but emotionally open woman whose only ambition is keeping her small gift shop open. Each hoping the other can solve their problems, the two near-strangers impulsively decide to run away together.

Dirtbags (sitcom, 2022)

A former child actor, a quirky costume designer, a musician with a day job, a public school teacher, and a very single wedding planner: they weren’t all friends in high school, but nothing brings people together like struggling in the big city. A story about trying to rise above your flop era, told with frequent flashbacks to their early-aughts Catholic school days.

“I Would Like to Scream About Cats Forever” (essay, 2020)

“The fantastic thing about Cats is that there is no good way to make a movie adaptation of it, but there are a million bad ways and Tom Hooper chose all of them.”

“Some Pitches for Romance Novels” (essay, 2020)

Inspired by Jekel Loves Hyde, a high school romance novel I found in a bargain bin, I came up with some sexy new twists on other beloved classics.

“Questions I Have For John Mayer” (essay, 2020)

I set out to understand a controversial pop star and ended up spiraling about what we want from celebrities.
